Introducing The Dandies
I'm currently on Chapter 10 of Aubrey's Story. The London boys are making me laugh at every turn, while The Dandies are causing me to swoon. This is one of my favorite scenes so far:
The boy’s momentum sent him flying over the man and landing on poor George who had been shuffling by. George let out a surprised cry as the cloth he had been holding to his face went flying. Cap removed his blindfold from where he was now sprawled on the floor.
“What’s happening?” Cap asked the moment before George started howling.
I admit that I did not react immediately. No, I was frozen in awe at the amount of air Jimmy had caught and wondering if he were still alive. The boy flew.
“Who tripped me?” Jimmy asked, his head popping up off of the floor from where he had landed.
George, sprouting a fresh bump on his head slowly rose behind the unsuspecting boy, anger twisting his face.
“Dear Moses,” I said, covering my mouth with one hand as I watched Jimmy’s life flash before his eyes. Poor George was tired of getting hurt, it seemed, and he was out for blood.
